Royale Union Saint-Gilloise (Union SG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Christiansen as Head Coach.
Thomas, 46, has dual Danish-Spanish nationality. He is a former striker who won two caps for Spain and who played for clubs in Spain (Barcleona B, Sporting de Gijón, CA Osasuna, Racing de Santander and Real Oviedo) as well as in Greece and Denmark, before moving to Germany, where he was the Bundesliga’s top scorer in 2003 with VfL Bochum.
As a coach, Thomas has managed AEK Larnaca and APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus, leading APOEL to become Champions of the Cypriot first division and finalists in the Cypriot Cup in the 2016-17 season. Most recently, Thomas was Head Coach of English Championship club Leeds United.

Thomas has signed a 2-season contract + 1 option at Union SG.
